Agri-Business Incubator of ICRISAT
ABI-ICRISAT was established in 2003 by ICRISAT with support of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, under its National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB). As the first agricultural sector focused incubator, ABI-ICRISAT is recognized as a Technology Business Incubator (TBI) that aims to promote agri-based entrepreneurship in the drylands, and facilitate public-private partnerships for growth.
Mission
Nurturing ag/food tech start-ups towards developing technology-led innovative solutions to address dryland agricultural challenges and help improve the livelihood of smallholder farmers and rural communities.
Objectives
- Promoting technology-led innovative agtech and allied startups to address agricultural and nutritional security challenges, building climate change resilience and adaptation in the agricultural value chain
- Identify and motivate entrepreneurs into agribusiness for local economic growth, contribute to job creation and farm livelihood diversification
